Does it Break Fasting?
Caffeine Army® does function as a calorie fast-breaker, as it provides your body with healthy lipids (MCTs) that help it replenish its energy sources. However, our functional coffee does not work as an insulin fast breaker. Here’s the science behind it:
While calorie fast works by frustrating all of your body’s mechanisms related to the intake of calories (essentially keeping it from accessing any type of macronutrient, including fats), an insulin-fasting regimen is centered around inhibiting spikes in your body’s insulin concentration. The latter (insulin fast) cannot be broken solely by the consumption of fats, as this macronutrient doesn’t directly affect your body’s insulin levels.
Note: For best results, we strongly recommend breaking your calorie fast with our functional coffee (i.e. consuming it on an empty stomach).
Does it contain Lactose?
Despite not having milk or any ingredients directly derived from dairy products in its composition, Caffeine Army® may contain trace amounts of lactose. The reason for this is that we utilize whey protein during the drying process of the Medium-Chain Triglycerides (MCTs) present in our formula. Thus, in compliance with the current legislation requirements regarding the eventual presence of allergens in food products, we bring this information to the attention of lactose-intolerant individuals.
Are there any restrictions/contraindications to its use?
Caffeine Army®’s use is contraindicated for pregnant and lactating individuals. If you have any questions or concerns regarding how long you should wait to start consuming it after giving birth, please consult your healthcare provider.
